12-1-1: SHORT TITLE:

This title shall be known and may be cited as the FAIR HOUSING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MT. PULASKI, ILLINOIS. (Ord., 4-24-1990)

12-1-2: PURPOSE AND DECLARATION OF POLICY:

It is hereby declared to be the policy of the city and the purpose of this title, in the exercise by the city of its policy and regulatory powers for the protection of the public safety, for the health, morals, safety and welfare of the persons in and residing in the city, and for the maintenance and promotion of commerce, industry and good government in the city, to secure to all persons living or desiring to live in the city a fair opportunity to purchase, lease, rent or occupy housing without discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, gender, creed, ancestry, physical or mental handicap, familial status, marital status, age, military status, unfavorable discharge from the military, sexual orientation or order of protection status.
