It shall be unlawful to hold, manage or conduct any meeting or entertainment of any kind in the village in any premises, other than a building constructed in full compliance with the ordinances and laws pertaining thereto for auditorium, theater or lodge room purposes, except in compliance with the provisions of this chapter. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to hold, manage or conduct any meeting or entertainment referred to herein without having first obtained a permit to do so. Applications for all permits shall be made to the village clerk, and the fee for any such permit shall be fifty dollars ($50.00) per day. No permit shall be issued except to a person of good character approved by the president and board of trustees. (1983 Code § 3-7-9)
It shall be the duty of any person or persons conducting, calling for, or managing any gathering in any premises, other than a theater, lodge room or auditorium building constructed as provided in section 10-11-1 of this chapter, to notify the village clerk of the date of such intended gathering at least ten (10) days before the gathering is to take place. Upon such notice, the building inspector shall inspect the premises to determine whether or not it complies with the provisions of this chapter. Any permit issued for any such gathering shall be subject to the condition that there is full compliance with this chapter, whether or not such condition is embodied in the permit.
