Sec. 7.86. Receipt of Forfeited Personal Property (LAPD).
 
   (a)   Each transfer of an item of forfeited personal property received by the City through its Department of Police pursuant to Title 21 U.S.C. Section 881(e)(1), Section 616 of the Tariff Act of 1930 (19 U.S.C. 1616), and California Health and Safety Code Section 11489, the fair market value of which exceeds $35,000, shall be submitted to the Board and the City Council for acceptance or rejection. Each transfer of an item of personal property pursuant to said statutes not exceeding $35,000 in fair market value shall be submitted to the Chief of Police or the Chief’s designee for acceptance. The Chief of Police shall submit to the Board and the City Council quarterly an account of all items of personal property received by the City pursuant to this section.
 
   (b)   Title to any personal property accepted by the City pursuant to this section shall be vested in the City of Los Angeles and such property shall be accounted for as required by Sections 7.84, 7.85 and 7.88 of this Code.
