Sec. 18-2.1. - Parking control officer.
(a)   The position of parking control officer shall be filled by individuals whose qualifications, both physical and educational, will permit the performance of the duties of parking control officer hereinafter defined, and in accordance with such requirements as may be established from time to time by the mayor. All parking control officers shall be employed by or shall otherwise be under the control of the Lexington and Fayette County Parking Authority. They shall not be members of the division of police, nor entitled to share in the policemen's and firemen's retirement fund.
(b)   The duties of a parking control officer shall be the following:
(1)   Issuance of citations for violations of the following sections of this Code: 18-63, 18-64, 18-106, 18-107, 18-108, 18-110, 18-111, 18-111.1, 18-112, 18-113.3, 18-113.4, 18-114, 18-114.1, 18-115, 18-118, 18-119, 18-120, 18-121, 18-122, 18-123, 18-124, 18-124.1, 18-125, 18-126, 18-127, 18-128, 18-129, 18-130, 18-131, 18-133, 18-135, 18-136, 18-137, 18-138, 18-141, 18-142; and
(2)   Issuance of citations to motor vehicles illegally parked in designated fire lanes pursuant to KRS 227.320.
(c)   This section shall not be construed as granting to said parking control officers the powers or authority of a peace officer, and such parking control officers shall be strictly prohibited and limited to the exercise and performance of the duties herein provided.
(d)   The provisions of this section shall not be construed to restrict or prohibit any member of the police force from enforcing parking violations in Fayette County, but shall be cumulative in the provisions of other ordinances of the urban county government.
