Sec. 18-122. - Twenty-four-hour parking.
(1)   The parking of any vehicle on any street for more than twenty-four (24) hours is hereby prohibited. Any vehicle parked for more than twenty-four (24) hours is hereby declared to be a public nuisance.
(2)   Any safety officer, parking control officer or peace officer is authorized to attach notice to such vehicle demanding that the owner or user of such vehicle abate such public nuisance within twenty-four (24) hours after such notice has been attached to the vehicle.
(3)   If the vehicle has not been moved for twenty-four (24) hours after the notice to abate has been attached to the vehicle, the public nuisance may be abated by impounding the vehicle.

Sec. 18-123. - All-night parking.
No person shall park a vehicle between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., except in emergency situations, on the following paved streets of the urban county within the described boundary, when indicated by appropriate signs:
East and west direction:
Vine Street to Main to Main.
Main Street from Jefferson to Midland.
Short Street from Spring to Esplanade.
Barr Street from North Limestone to Walnut.
Pleasant Stone Street from North Limestone to Walnut.
North and south direction:
Broadway from High to Second.
Mill Street from High to Second.
Cheapside from Short to Main.
Market Street from Short to Church.
Upper Street from High to Second.
Limestone Street from High to Third.
Walnut Street from Main to Pleasant Stone.
Quality Street from Main to Vine.
Deweese Street from Main to Short.

Sec. 18-124. - Parking for certain purposes prohibited.
(1)   No person shall park a vehicle or boat upon any street for the principal purpose of:
(a)   Displaying such vehicle or boat for sale, lease, advertisement, or other promotional purpose;
(b)   Washing, greasing, or repairing such vehicle or boat, except any repairs which may be necessitated by an emergency.
(2)   It shall be unlawful for any vehicle sales facility, automobile repair shop, tire shop, accessory store, filling station, or any other establishment whatsoever, to use any part of any street for the storage, repair, adjustment, or equipment of vehicles or accessories therefor.
(3)   It shall be unlawful to park any vehicle or boat within the front yard of any premises that is adjacent to a street or thoroughfare of three (3) or more lanes or side street side yard of any premises that is adjacent to a street or thoroughfare of three (3) or more lanes which have been landscaped in accordance with the requirements of article 18 of the zoning ordinance unless any such vehicle is parked on a paved surface behind the required landscaping or alternative parking is approved by a permit issued by the division of building inspection. Notwithstanding the foregoing, adjacent access or service roads of any such premises shall be included in the requirement that parking occur on a paved surface behind the required landscaping or be approved by a permit issued by the division of building inspection.
(4)   It shall be unlawful for any person to park a vehicle within any detention/retention basin unless said detention/retention basin has been incorporated within the confines of a vehicular use area as defined by and landscaped in accordance with the requirements of article 18 of the zoning ordinance.

Sec. 18-124.1. - Parking for government officials generally.
The director, division of traffic engineering is hereby authorized, upon the direction of the mayor, to designate and set apart vehicle parking spaces upon the public streets and other public places specifically for the use of federal, state or urban county government officials and employees. Such parking spaces and the vehicles for which the spaces are designated shall be appropriately marked; and it shall be unlawful for any person, except the duly designated officials or employees, to use or occupy such parking spaces.

Sec. 18-125. - Parking for urban county government officials and employees.
Spaces on urban county streets in the vicinity of the Courthouse, with the exception of that space which is prohibited to parking by other sections of these regulations, may be designated and set apart as vehicle parking spaces for urban county government officials and employees. The director, division of traffic engineering shall designate the assignment of such spaces, which shall be indicated by appropriate markings. It shall be unlawful for any person except the duly designated officials or employees of the urban county government to use or occupy such spaces.
