1610.01 2003 EDITION ADOPTED; FILE COPIES.
   (a)   There is hereby adopted by the City, in its entirety, for the purpose of establishing the minimum requirements consistent with nationally recognized good practice for providing a reasonable level of life safety and property protection from the hazards of fire, explosion or dangerous conditions in new and existing buildings, structures and premises and to provide safety to fire fighters and emergency responders during emergency operations, as set forth therein, that certain code known as the International Fire Code, the 2003 edition, as published by International Code Council, Inc., save and except such provisions as are hereinafter deleted or amended.
   (b)   Not less than three copies of such Code are on file with the Assistant City Manager, and the Assistant City Manager shall keep the same with the ordinance book of the City and make the same available for public use, inspection and examination.
   (c)   References throughout this chapter, to "this chapter," include the Appendix Chapters adopted by reference in this chapter.

1610.02 DEFINITIONS.
   As used in the International Fire Code adopted herein:
   (a)   "Name of jurisdiction" means the City of Johnstown.
   (b)   "Fire Code Official" means the Fire Chief of the Department of Fire.
