A. The 2000 Edition of the International Fire Code is adopted as the official fire code of the City of Gooding, State of Idaho, for regulating and governing the safeguarding of life and property from fire and explosion hazards arising from the storage, handling and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices, and from conditions hazardous to life or property in the occupancy of buildings and premises in the City of Gooding, Idaho and providing for the issuance of permits for hazardous uses or operations; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, conditions and terms of the International Fire Code, 2000 Edition, are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof as if fully set out in this Chapter.
B. The adoptive versions of the foregoing code shall be deemed superceded by successive versions of such code as they are adopted or approved by the Idaho State Fire Marshall or the State of Idaho, effective on the date any such codes are made effective by either the Fire Marshal or Idaho legislation. A. The Uniform Fire Code shall be enforced by the Fire Department of the City and shall be under the supervision of the Chief of the Fire Department.
B. The Chief of the Fire Department may detail such members of the Fire Department as inspectors. The Chief of the Fire Department shall recommend to the City Council the appointment of inspectors who shall be selected through an examination of the Fire Marshals office of the State of Idaho. Whenever the Chief disapproves an application or refuses to grant a permit applied for, or when it is claimed that the provisions of the Code do not apply or that the true intent and meaning of the Code has been misconstrued or wrongly interpreted, the applicant may appeal from the decision of the Chief to the Uniform Fire Code Appeals Board of the City within thirty (30) days from the date of the decision appealed.
