A. Concrete Buttons And Boulders; Permit Required:
1. Dome shaped concrete markers (commonly called "concrete buttons") not to exceed six inches (6") in height and having a diameter no greater than twelve inches (12") or rocks of substantially the same size are permitted to be placed in parkways adjacent to the paved portions of roadways, provided such markers are placed at intervals no closer than four feet (4') apart.
2. Smooth nonjagged boulders may be used, provided that an application is made and a permit duly issued by the village board, as follows:
PARKWAY BOULDER APPLICATION
, residing at , hereby applies to place boulders on the parkway at said address. Boulders are approximately x and will be located no closer than one foot (1') from the pavement edge and at intervals no closer than four feet (4') apart.
In consideration of this permit by the village of Golf, I hereby agree to accept full responsibility for the boulders, returning them to their proper place if moved.
I further agree to indemnify and hold the village of Golf harmless from any loss, expense, cost, judgment and attorneys' fees for any claim arising out of any accident, injury or damage claim that may result.

3. Concrete markers not in conformance with the provisions of subsection A1 of this section, and boulders for which an application has not been made and a permit issued are subject to removal by order of the village president. (Ord., 1989)
B. Filling Or Sodding Parkways: No material other than sod or topsoil may at any time be placed in any parkway without a written permit being obtained from the village board, which permit shall specify the location, width, slope and height to which said material may be piled.
C. Underground facilities. No private facilities shall be installed underground in parkways except upon receiving a permit from the village. Private service extensions for water service, sanitary sewer service and utility services are allowed underground subject to applicable provisions of this code. Other underground, private facilities in parkways are not allowed except upon receiving a permit from the village, which may require the owner to execute a recordable agreement with the village concerning the duties and liabilities of the parties.
D. Parkways. As used in this chapter or elsewhere in this code, the term "parkway" means any portion of the right of way not improved with a street or sidewalk.
