5-3-7: COMPLIANCE CITATIONS:
   A.   Any person, pursuant to the issuance of a compliance citation, who is accused of violating certain sections of the Illinois vehicle code, as adopted in its entirety in section 5-3-6 of this chapter, may settle and compromise the claim against him by paying to the village: (Ord. 9401, 2-14-2001)
      1.   Within ten (10) days of the time such alleged offense was committed, the sum of thirty dollars ($30.00), and by presenting to the village proof of compliance with the section allegedly violated; or (Ord. 9401, 2-14-1994; amd. Ord. 02-02, 5-13-2002)
      2.   If after ten (10) days but before thirty (30) days after such alleged offense was committed, the sum of fifty dollars ($50.00), and by presenting to the village proof of compliance with the section allegedly violated; or (Ord. 9703, 9-8-1997; amd. Ord. 02-02, 5-13-2002)
      3.   If after thirty (30) days after such alleged offense was committed, the sum of seventy five dollars ($75.00) plus an administrative fee of twenty dollars ($20.00), and by presenting to the village proof of compliance with the section allegedly violated. The following violations of 625 Illinois Compiled Statutes, the Illinois vehicle code, already adopted in its entirety in section 5-3-6 of this chapter, shall be subject to the procedures described herein:

   B.   The issuance of a compliance citation shall be a courtesy in lieu of instituting a prosecution in court for the alleged offense. Any compliance citation which remains unpaid or in which the alleged violator has not appeared within a thirty (30) day period from the date of issuance to request a court date will be converted to a uniform traffic complaint and a court date will be issued for the alleged offense, or the citation will be processed accordingly for civil action.
