VETERANS COMMISSION
The Florence Veterans Commission (“Commission”) be and the same is hereby established to serve as follows:
(A) The primary purpose and vision of the Commission is to provide a support system, community recognition, resources, and comprehensive community relations to veterans and those who have served this nation. The Commission shall act as an advisory body to the Mayor regarding military veteran programs, veteran organizations, and veteran related activities.
(B) To communicate with and assist the Mayor and the city in the conduct of veteran related matters and affairs.
(C) To provide veteran related services and/or activities as the Mayor may from time-to-time direct.

The Commission shall consist of five Commissioners. All Commissioners shall be citizens and residents of the city and a qualified veteran as defined by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. All Commissioners shall be appointed by the Mayor.

The Commission shall be funded by the city through its annual budget process. The Commission shall comply with all city rules and regulations regarding its conduct of financial affairs. The Commission shall not have authority to incur any debt or other financial obligation, nor bind the city in the Commission’s name, or in the name of the city, without the written consent and authorization of the Mayor.

The Commission shall create an Office of Commission Liaison (“Commission Liaison”) who shall be responsible for communicating with the Mayor’s office in respect to all activities and actions proposed by the Commission. The Commission Liaison shall also act as an advisor to the Commission and Mayor on matters relating to veterans affairs.

BOONE COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION; BOARDS OF ADJUSTMENT
(A) The Supplemental Agreement requested by the Boone County Planning Commission providing and allowing for compensation to citizen members of the Boone County Planning Commission and Boards of Adjustment is hereby adopted and approved as a Supplemental Agreement to the Agreement establishing the Boone County Planning Commission pursuant to KRS Chapter 100 (see § 33.15). The Supplemental Agreement being adopted and approved herein is limited solely and only to this purpose and does not otherwise affect, change, alter, or modify any other provision of the original Agreement or any of its other Supplemental Agreements. A copy of the Supplemental Agreement being approved and adopted herein is incorporated herein by reference as if fully set out.
(B) It is specifically and expressly herein provided that the original Agreement establishing the Boone County Planning Commission and its Supplemental Agreements previously adopted are to remain in full force and effect, the Supplemental Agreement being adopted by this section being limited solely to the issue of allowing compensation to citizen members of the Boone County Planning Commission and Boards of Adjustment.
