Numbering of buildings - see Ohio R.C. 715.26(C)
As used in this chapter, "house" means all classes of buildings, including but not limited to any dwelling house, commercial business block or building used for business purposes and industrial buildings; any "street" means any street, avenue, lane, alley, public place or highway.
The master map and strip map, prepared by Morris E. Nall & Associates and approved by Council on July 31, 1959 and amended by Council on October 12, 1965, and constituting the numbering system of the City of Eastlake, are determined to be, and constitute, the numbering system of the City of Eastlake and shall be officially known hereafter as such system. Council reserves the right and privilege to amend such system or any part of it at any time.
(Ord. 1960-138. Passed 7-12-60; Ord. 1965-175. Passed 10-12-65.)
Effective July 1, 1961, the owner, agent, lessee or other person in charge of each building now or hereafter erected within the City is required to attach to the building the number assigned thereto, to be a minimum of four inches in size to be plainly visible from the street with no obstruction such as, but not restricted to, shrubs, trees or bushes. The size and type of the number shall be determined by the Director of Public Service.
No new building or structure is permitted to be occupied by other than construction personnel until such time as the address is posted as required by this section and Section 907.04, and the street names are properly posted at all intersections.
(Ord. 1999-019. Passed 1-26-99.)
