This franchise may be renewed for a like ten-year term ten (10) years from the passage of the ordinance codified herein, upon notice from the Company and agreement by the City to renew tendered by the Company before thirty (30) days prior to the end of this franchise and any extensions thereto, unless the Company shall not be in substantial compliance with the material terms of this franchise. Notwithstanding and without prejudice to the above, either party may timely invoke applicable provisions of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, for renewing this franchise. Unless renewed as outlined above, this franchise will lapse. The City must approve any transfer of ownership.
