Catch basins shall be from 6 inches to 18 inches in width, and from 6 inches to 20 inches in depth, according to location and the probable amount of water to be taken care of. The dimensions of the same within the above named limits shall be fixed by the City Engineer, in his or her discretion, as upon application hereafter provided. The length of the catch basins from the connections with the storm drains shall be not less than two feet and may be as much as the Engineer determines to be necessary in any particular case.
