Before entering upon the duties of his or her office, the Mayor shall give bond of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) conditioned upon the faithful performance of the duties of his or her office during his or her incumbency thereof, including the duties as member and President of the Sinking Fund Commission, which Commission shall pay one-half (0.5) of the premium on the bond.
