As used in this chapter, “armed security guard” means a person engaged for hire or employed as a watchman, guard, private policeman, or other person whose primary duty is to protect persons or property or both, with the exception of such persons who do not carry a weapon of any kind, but does not include any police officer, special police officer, or any other person who by virtue of federal, state, or local law, excluding this chapter, is a “law enforcement officer” as defined in RC 2901.01.
