No person shall resist any member of the police force in the discharge of his or her duty or in any way interfere, hinder or prevent him or her from discharging his or her duty, nor offer or endeavor so to do; nor in any manner assist any person in custody of any member of the police force to escape, nor attempt to rescue any person in custody.
