§ 123.02 Office of Civil Defense
   Pursuant to the provisions of Charter Section 77 and with the concurrence of the Board of Control, there is hereby established in the Office of the Mayor, the Office of Civil Defense, to be administered and controlled by a Director of Civil Defense appointed by the Mayor in compliance with RC 5915.06, who shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor and subject to his or her supervision and control. To assist the Director in the administration of the duties of his or her office the Mayor shall appoint an executive committee of such number of persons as he or she may determine necessary or desirable who may or may not hold other official positions in the governmental service of the State or any of its political subdivisions who shall serve at his or her pleasure. The Director, with the approval of the Mayor, shall appoint a Deputy Director of Civil Defense who shall be responsible for the distribution of the work of the Office among the several departments of the City. In addition the Director, with the approval of the Mayor, shall appoint three (3) Zone Directors of Civil Defense, who shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor and be responsible for the discharge of such duties as may be required of them within their respective areas as determined by the Mayor and as may be assigned to them by the Mayor, the Director or Council. Such clerical, stenographic and other necessary employees of the Office as the Director shall determine to be necessary adequately to staff the Office shall be appointed in accordance with the civil service provisions of the Charter, by the Deputy Director, with the approval of the Director. The several administrative departments of the City shall furnish upon request of the Deputy Director such members of the respective departments as the Mayor shall determine and designate.
