§ 381.12 Means of Egress: Prohibitions and Maintenance
   (a)   No person shall place any obstruction in front of, in or on any required means of egress, or place any curtain or mirror over, on or in front of exit doors, or obstruct access to or visibility of any exit door.
   (b)   No overhead electric service cable and no telephone cable shall be directly over or within three (3) feet of an exterior stairway, exit balcony, or fire escape unless such cable is enclosed in rigid conduit securely fastened and supported.
   (c)   Exterior stairways, exit balconies, bridges and fire escapes shall be promptly cleared of snow or ice, and shall be maintained in a usable condition at all times.
   (d)   All means of egress shall be maintained in a safe and usable condition. Corrodible metals shall be kept painted or otherwise protected against rust and corrosion.
