In addition to any other authority provided in this Code, the superintendent of police shall have the authority, pursuant to Section 14 of the Emergency Telephone System Act, to enter into and certify the continuation of agreements on behalf of the police department and the city, with other units of local government, special purpose districts and public safety agencies, for the provision of emergency services outside jurisdictional boundaries. Such agreements and certifications shall be subject to approval by the corporation counsel as to form and legality. Copies of such agreements and certifications shall be filed with the Illinois Attorney General and the Illinois Commerce Commission pursuant to Section 15 of the Emergency Telephone System Act.
