As used in this chapter, certain terms are defined as follows:
(a) "Projecting sign" means any letter, work, model, sign, device, or representation used in the nature of advertisement, announcement or direction, extending over the sidewalk beyond the property line at the street or alley more than eighteen inches.
(b) “Electric signs” mean the bulb or neon type, and do not include box glass, transparent or hooded or reflector types, commonly known as commercial signs. (1964 Code §701.15)
