1-6-1: ELECTION OF MAYOR:
The Mayor of the City shall be elected for a four (4) year term at the regular election heretofore provided by law and shall serve commencing January 1, 1966, and extending through December 31, 1969. Thereafter the term of Mayor shall commence on January 1 following the regular election and such Mayor shall serve four (4) years and until his successor is elected and qualified as provided by statute 1 . 1-6-2: SALARY:
The salary of the Mayor shall be the sum of fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000.00) annually, commencing January 1, 1998, payable every two (2) weeks. (Ord. 1094, 7-7-1997, eff. 1-1-1998)
1-6-3: VACANCY:
In the event of a vacancy in the office of Mayor, the President of the Council shall serve until the next election as provided by law. (Ord. 711, 8-19-1963; amd. 1981 Code)
1-6-4: CONFLICTING INTERESTS:
The Mayor shall devote such time and attention to the affairs of the City as is necessary to perform the duties of the Mayor and shall not, during his term of office, operate, keep, maintain or be employed at or in any business, establishment, concern or enterprise that shall in any way conflict with his duties as Mayor of the City as hereinafter set forth.
