8-3-1: FIRE PROTECTION:
The city fire department shall provide fire protection within the city limits and to areas covered by mutual reciprocal agreements with other cities and fire districts. (1974 Code § 3-101)
8-3-2: FIRE CODE:
   A.   Adoption: The edition of the international fire code adopted from time to time by the state fire marshal is hereby adopted by the city and shall apply in all instances within the corporate limits and impact area of the city. (1974 Code § 3-102)
   B.   Copy: One copy of the aforementioned code, together with such official supplements thereto, which are adopted have been and now are filed in the office of the city clerk-treasurer, such copy shall be retained in the office of the city clerk-treasurer after its adoption.    C.   Amendments:
      1.   Whenever the word "jurisdiction" is used in the international fire code, it is in reference to the city of Buhl, Idaho.
      2.   Whenever the word "chief" or "fire chief" is used in the international fire code, said code is amended to mean the fire chief of the city of Buhl, Idaho. (1974 Code § 3-103)
8-3-3: ENFORCEMENT:
   A.   Fire Department: The international fire code shall be enforced by the city fire department under the provision of the chief of the fire department. The city fire department may designate such members of the fire department and inspectors as shall from time to time become necessary. (1974 Code § 3-103)
   B.   Authority To Arrest: The city fire chief shall have authority to arrest, without a warrant, whenever he has reasonable cause to believe that the person to be arrested has committed a misdemeanor in his presence which he has the discretionary duty to enforce and to issue a notice to appear and release such person on his or her written promise to appear in court. (1974 Code § 3-103; amd. 2010 Code)
   C.   Appeal: Whenever the fire chief disapproves an application or refuses to grant a permit applied for or when it is claimed that the provisions of the code do not apply or that the true intent and meaning of the code may have been misconstrued or wrongly interpreted, the aggrieved party may appeal the decision of the fire chief to the board of appeals as provided for within the international fire code, within ten (10) days from the date of the decision appealed.
