B. Hazardous and unlawful vehicles may be towed without notice. Within forty eight (48) hours after towing a vehicle pursuant to this subsection, a notice shall be sent to the owner of the vehicle and lienholder affording the opportunity for a hearing as provided in sections 6-4-304 and 6-4-306 of this part.
C. The towing of any vehicle pursuant to this part by the village or by any towing service operator shall be authorized, and only under the circumstances and in accordance with the procedures herein provided.
D. Towed vehicles shall be impounded only at facilities approved by the police department until lawfully claimed or disposed of pursuant to provisions of this part and applicable law.
E. Nothing in this part shall prohibit the towing of vehicles in accordance with article II of chapter 4 of the Illinois vehicle code 1 , provided that all notices hereunder shall be sent via certified mail, return receipt requested or personal service. (Ord. 2010-79, 10-19-2010)
