4-1-1: FOOD REGULATIONS AND RESTRICTIONS:
The Village of Bartlett shall adhere to, follow and enforce the regulations adopted in the 2017 U.S. Public Health Service FDA Food Code, as amended, from time to time. A certified copy of such code is available for inspection at the Community Development Department. (Ord. 2019-19, 3-5-2019)
4-1-2: REGULATIONS AFFECTING WATERCOURSES AND POOLS:
   A.   Watercourses: It shall be unlawful and a nuisance for any person to obstruct or pollute any watercourse or source of water supply in the Village. (1968 Code § 19.303)
   B.   Pools: Any stagnant pool of water in the Village is hereby declared to be a nuisance. It shall be unlawful for any person to permit any such nuisance to remain or exist on any property under his or its control. (1968 Code § 19.304)
4-1-3: DISPOSITION OF REFUSE 1 :
It shall be unlawful for any person to deposit anywhere in the Village uncovered piles of refuse, garbage, offal or carcasses of dead animals. Any uncovered piles of refuse are hereby declared to be a nuisance. (1968 Code § 19.305; amd. 1983 Code)
4-1-4: SEWAGE DISPOSAL RESTRICTED:
It shall be unlawful for any person to maintain, permit, cause, create or contribute to, in any way, an open drain, sewer or cesspool, and it shall also be unlawful for any person to permit, create, cause or contribute to any unsightly, nauseous or unhealthful condition by failing to properly dispose of sewage or refuse, both within the limits of the Village and at any point within one mile of the Village limits. (1968 Code § 19.315)
4-1-5: BURIAL OF THE DEAD:
It shall be unlawful for any person to establish a cemetery or to bury any person within the Village limits, or within a mile thereof, except in an established cemetery. (1968 Code § 19.306)
4-1-6: KEEP PREMISES IN SAFE AND SANITARY CONDITION 2 :
It shall be unlawful to permit any building, structure or place to remain in such a condition as to be dangerous to the public health in any way. Any such structure, building or place is hereby declared to be a nuisance. (1968 Code § 19.307)
4-1-7: DANGEROUS ACTS PROHIBITED:
It shall be unlawful to commit or do any act which endangers the public health or results in annoyance or discomfort to the public. (1968 Code § 19.308)
4-1-8: ABATEMENT OF NUISANCES:
It shall be unlawful for any person to permit or maintain the existence of any nuisance on any property under his control. The Chief of Police and the Health Officer of the Village are each authorized to abate any such nuisance existing in the Village, whether such nuisance is specifically recognized by ordinance or not. (1968 Code § 19.311)
4-1-9: SPITTING IN PUBLIC PROHIBITED:
It shall be unlawful to spit or expectorate on any public sidewalk or other public place, or on the floor or walls of any store, theater, hall, public vehicle or other place frequented by the public or to which the public is invited. (1968 Code § 19.312)
4-1-10: FLY ASH:
The maximum amount allowed from fly ash or dust shall not exceed that as permitted under current EPA standards. (1968 Code § 19.314; amd. 1983 Code)
4-1-11: PENALTY:
Any person violating any provision of this chapter shall be fined not less than five dollars ($5.00) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) for each offense; and a separate offense shall be deemed committed on each and every day during or on which a violation occurs or is permitted to continue. (1968 Code § 19.316)
