7-2-1: COVERAGE AREA:

The provisions of this chapter will apply to the "Downtown Parking Area" which is bounded by the following streets:

   A.   Skidmore Drive on the east;

   B.   Park Avenue on the south (including an imaginary extension thereof to Victoria Street);

   C.   Spafford Street on the west (including an imaginary extension thereof to Orchard Street);

   D.   Orchard Street on the north. (Ord. 19-05-20, 5-13-2019)

7-2-2: GENERAL REGULATION AND PROHIBITION:

Vehicles shall be permitted to park in the Downtown Parking Area only in painted, designated parking spaces, and only during the durations allowed for such parking in the regulations set forth in this chapter. It shall be unlawful to park vehicles in any manner which is not in conformity with the regulations so described. Fines for violations of these regulations are set forth in subsection 1-3-1 A of this Code. This section shall not apply to intercity vehicles unless prior approval has been granted pursuant to section 7-3-3 of this code. (Ord. 19-05-20, 5-13-2019; amd. Ord. 24-01-04, 1-10-2024)

7-2-3: PARKING AREA DESIGNATION:

The Superintendent of Public Works shall cause parking spaces to be painted within the areas designated in this chapter, and in particular shall provide for handicapped-accessible parking spaces in conformity with 625 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/11-1301.1 et seq. (Ord. 19-05-20, 5-13-2019)

7-2-4: PARKING DURATIONS:

On the following streets and publicly owned parking lots, vehicles may be parked for periods not to exceed the times listed below:
