For the purpose of this article, the following definitions apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
CHIEF OF POLICE. The peace officer in charge of the police force of the municipality.
CITY CLERK. The Clerk of this municipality, including any deputy or member of the office staff of the Clerk while performing duties of the Clerk’s office.
GOVERNING BODY. The City Council.
MUNICIPAL COURT. The Municipal Court of the city.
MUNICIPAL JUDGE. The Judge of the Municipal Court, including any acting judge or alternate judge thereof as provided for by the statutes of this state and this article.
MUNICIPALITY or THIS MUNICIPALITY. The city.
THIS JUDICIAL DISTRICT. The district court judicial district of the state wherein the government of this municipality is situated.

This article shall govern the organization and operation of the Municipal Court of the city, as put into operation by resolution duly passed on January 7, 1969, and filed in accordance with law as authorized by 11 O.S. §§ 27-101 and 27-102. To the extent of conflict between any provisions of this article and the provisions of any ordinance of this city, the provisions of this article shall control. The Municipal Court shall be operative on and after January 13, 1969.
