The Village Administrator shall be appointed by the President of the Board of Trustees with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees. He or she shall hold office until the next regular election or specially called Municipal election at which the Office of the Village President is to be filled and until a successor has been duly appointed and qualified, unless a shorter term is specified in any employment agreement and except as otherwise provided by law. Interviews of candidates for the Office of Village Administrator shall be conducted by a committee consisting of the members of the Corporate Authorities. The committee may have such person(s) assist in the conduct of the interview process as the committee deems appropriate. (Ord. 97-O-02, 1-13-1997)
Before entering upon the duties of the office, the Village Administrator shall execute a bond conditioned upon the faithful performance of the duties pertaining thereto, with security to be approved by the President and Board of Trustees. The amount of the bond shall be as set forth in section 1-6-1 of this title.
The salary of the Village Administrator shall be as provided in section 1-6-2 of this title. (Ord. 77-O-6, 1977)
