8-1-1: DEFINITIONS:
As used in this Chapter, the following terms and phrases shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this Section, unless context dictates otherwise:
 
ENTERTAINMENT ASSEMBLY:
Includes all assemblies of the public gathered either indoors or outdoors for musical festivals, concerts and other musical entertainment; automobile racing, motorcycle racing; horse racing; boat racing; other racing events; and for other entertainment purposes.
HEALTH DEPARTMENT:
Means and refers to the Southwest District Health Department and employees and representatives thereof.
SHERIFF:
Sheriff shall mean and refer to the Washington County Sheriff, his duly authorized deputies and representatives. (Ord. 1, 5-24-71, eff. 5-25-71; amd. Ord. 89, 10-28-2021)
 
8-1-2: COMPLIANCE REQUIRED; LIABILITY:
It shall be unlawful for any person, corporation, organization, landowner or lessor to allow, promote, conduct, permit or cause to be advertised an entertainment assembly that said person, corporation, organization, landowner or lessor believes or has reason to believe will attract four hundred (400) or more persons, whether or not a charge or contribution is required for admission, unless a completed application, in compliance with this Chapter, has been submitted to the Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners for the operation of said entertainment assembly. One such permit shall be required for each entertainment assembly. Criminal or civil liability for failure to comply with the provisions of this Chapter shall rest in all persons, corporations, organizations, landowners or lessors who are responsible for obtaining permits under this Chapter.
