(A) The city operates and provides direct feeds to equipment broadcasting on the electronic media in the county in and around the city. The media used are Radio 530AM (WPIW517) and Channel 64 on TCI (Time Warner) Cable.
(B) The primary purpose of the radio and television transmissions is to provide public emergency broadcasts in a timely and concise manner. Technological incidents and natural disasters are two of the primary concerns for use of the emergency broadcasting systems.
(C) Secondary uses of the systems are limited to non-commercial, non-political and non-religious in the context of public information broadcasts. These broadcasts, therefore, are limited to educational (historical and public interest), public informational (how-to’s and safety informational), public reminders and coming events (scheduled public meetings, non-profit organizational and charitable functions). Televised events are for use to disseminate a broad spectrum of informational and historical events for the review of citizens who are unable to view or attend public functions, which include dedication ceremonies, sporting events and public meetings and hearings. These events are considered historical and educational in content.
