4-310: FEES FOR IMPOUNDING; DISPOSAL:
   A.   The fees for impounding and keeping an animal, to be paid upon redemption, shall be determined by the Council by motion or resolution.
   B.   Any person redeeming an impounded animal shall pay the above fees to the City Clerk and present his receipt therefor to the person in charge of the pound before the latter releases the animal.
   C.   Any person redeeming a dog not licensed as required by this chapter shall pay the required License Tax to the City Clerk and secure a tag and present the receipt therefor and the tag to the person in charge of the pound before the latter releases the dog. If a dog has been licensed but is not wearing the tag, the person in charge of the pound shall require adequate evidence of the proper licensing of the dog before releasing it.
   D.   Any person bringing a dog to the City pound for the purpose of disposing of the dog shall be subject to the following:
      1.   The owner of the dog brought to the pound for disposition must sign a waiver that releases ownership of the dog as well as allows for disposition of the dog by the City in a manner chosen by the City;
      2.   Upon acceptance of a dog released by the owner for disposition, a fee as set by the City Council from time to time shall be paid.
      3.   It is unlawful and in violation of this Code for any person to drop off a dog at the City pound and not in compliance with the above procedures and fees. (Ord. 307, 7-9-2015)
