(A) Water mains.
(1) Water mains shall be a minimum of six-inch PVC SDR 18, AWWA C900, with integral bell and spigot or dual gasketed collar joints. The ultimate water main size shall be determined by the Town Council on its engineer’s recommendation and/or its water system master plan.
(2) Fittings for water main installations shall be mechanical joint or push on joint, class 150 ductile iron or cast iron. Water main valves shall be cast iron resilient seat type gate valves with mechanical joints and adjustment cast iron valve boxes. The minimum cover is five feet, zero inches.
(B) Water services. Water services shall be a minimum of three-fourths-inch type K copper. Corporations and curb stops shall be brass, meeting the latest revision of AWWA standards. Tapping saddles shall be dual strapped bronze with rubber seal. The minimum cover is five feet, zero inches.
(C) Sewer mains. Sewer mains shall be minimum eight-inch PVC DR 35, ASTM designation D3034 with integral bell and spigot joints, or as required by the town’s engineer and/or superintendent. The minimum slope is one-fourth inch per foot.
(D) Sewer services. Sewer services shall be a minimum four inch DR 35, ASTM designation D3034 with integral bell and spigot joints. The minimum slope is one-fourth inch per foot.
(E) Abandonment of sewer laterals. At such time as any sewer lateral to any property within the town is abandoned, the lateral must be capped off at the main sewer line, and any capping, including street cuts, shall be at the sole expense of the landowner for whose benefit the work is performed. The capping shall be in compliance with any and all other town ordinances.
(F) Storm sewers. Storm sewers shall be a minimum class III reinforced concrete pipe sized and sloped per the Town Engineer’s recommendations.
(G) Telephone, cable, and electrical lines. Telephone, cable, and electrical lines shall be suitable for underground installation per the State Electric Code. The minimum cover is 36 inches.
(H) Oil and gas mains. Oil and gas mains shall be suitable for underground installation per the State Oil and Gas Commission standards. The minimum cover is 36 inches.
