Reports From Department Directors and Attendance At Council Committee Meetings
144.01   Purpose.
144.02   Council Committee meetings.
144.03   Reports from department directors.
144.01 PURPOSE.
   The Department Directors are to submit monthly summary reports to the Mayor who will then distribute the reports to City Council. As the reports are public record, the purpose of this process is to respect the Mayor’s line of authority, the separation of the three branches of City government both as outlined by the City Charter, and to provide information to the public. Additionally, this process is to create communication between the Administration and Council for the betterment of City operations and decision-making responsibilities that are required by the City Ordinances and the City Charter.

144.02 COUNCIL COMMITTEE MEETINGS.
   (a)   The Building, Engineering, and Finance Department Directors are required to attend all regularly scheduled Council and Committee Meetings. The Police Chief and Fire Chief are required to attend the regularly scheduled Police and Fire Committee meetings.
   (b)   The following Department Directors may be asked to attend a specific Committee, Council or Special meeting:
      Service Director      Police Chief
      Recreation Director      Fire Chief
      Senior and Community Service Director
