13-2-3: MEMBERSHIP:
   A.   Minimum Qualifications: To become a member of the reserve police, an applicant must meet the minimum qualifications of an applicant for the regular police force as set forth by the chief of police, the city and state law.
   B.   Selection Procedure; Requirements: The chief of police will establish procedures for the selection of the new members of the reserve police force, which may include background investigations, review boards, drug testing, polygraph examinations and any other procedure required by law.
   C.   Number Of Work Hours:
      1.   Members of the reserve police force may not work more than twenty five (25) hours per calendar week, or as otherwise provided by law.
      2.   Members of the reserve police force shall work not less than eight (8) hours, in not less than four (4) hour continuous increments, per month in a patrol function or as assigned by the chief of police, or his designee. Any member not meeting the eight (8) hour per month minimum work standard for three (3) months in a twelve (12) month period shall be removed from the reserve police force by the chief of police.    D.   Amendment Of Rules And Regulations: Rules and regulations of the reserve police force of the city may be amended by resolution or ordinance. (2000 Code § 13-203; amd. Ord. 1069, 2-12-2008, eff. 3-13-2008)
