A. Control And Management: The chief of police shall, subject to the direction of the city manager, have control and management of all matters relating to the police department, its officers and members, and shall have the care, custody and control of all firearms and military equipment, books and records belonging to that department.
B. Determine Hours; Establish Rules: The chief of police shall fix the hours at which regular police officers enter upon and retire from duty, and, subject to the approval of the city manager and council, establish rules and regulations for governing the police force.
C. Suspension Of Police Officer: During the pending of charges against any police officer, the chief of police may suspend the officer until such charges are examined. (2000 Code § 13-104)
