9-8-1: DEFINITIONS:
   A.   Terms Defined: The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
   PERSONAL PROPERTY: Property which is owned, utilized and acquired in the normal course of living in or maintaining a residence. Personal property does not include merchandise which was purchased for resale, obtained on consignment or acquired through the operation of a business.
   RESIDENTIAL SALE: Any sale of what is held out to be or is commonly known as a garage, porch, room, backyard, or patio sale; or any other type of general sale conducted from or on any premises located in a residential zoning district, where goods or articles of any type are held out for sale to the public.
   B.   Exceptions:
      1.   The definition of a "residential sale" shall not include a situation where specific items are held out for sale and all advertisements of such sale specifically name the items to be sold. No more than two (2) items at any one time are allowed under this exception.
      2.   The definition of a "residential sale" shall not include items offered for sale on the internet or through any electronic media. Said items shall not be placed in public view and marked as for sale. (Ord. 1131, 4-12-2011)
