Before the issuance of any license, any person, firm or corporation engaging in the business of pruning, cutting and trimming trees or shrubbery as provided herein shall file a surety bond with the city in the sum of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) payable to the city and conditioned that the principal will at all times do all cutting, trimming and pruning strictly in accordance with the provisions of this chapter, and that all work will be done in a good and workmanlike manner, that the city shall be fully indemnified and held whole and harmless from any and all costs, expense or damage to real property or personal injury done to any person or property in the prosecution of the work by any person, firm or corporation engaged in such business, and that may arise out of or be occasioned in the performance of the work; and that any person, firm or corporation engaged in the business will cause all property damage by such person, firm or corporation to be repaired and put in the same condition as it was before the work was done. No license shall be issued to any person, firm or corporation engaged in such business until such bond has been filed and approved by the city manager. (2000 Code § 9-602)
