5-4-3: LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:
   For contractors, journeymen and apprentices:
   A.   State License, Bond And Insurance: Any person, firm or corporation operating as a mechanical contractor, mechanical journeyman or mechanical apprentice in a mechanical firm shall make application, take examinations, provide bond, liability insurance and be licensed through the state as outlined in the mechanical licensing act, dated November 1, 1987, or current law.
   B.   City Requirements:
      1.   A city license to operate within the corporate limits of the city will be issued to mechanical contractors upon verification of a state mechanical contractor's license. The city license fee for mechanical contractors shall be the sum of two hundred dollars ($200.00) for the first year's license. The annual renewal fee thereafter shall be the sum of fifty dollars ($50.00). Such licenses shall be issued at the community services office, and shall expire on June 30. Such licenses shall be renewed within the thirty (30) days before the expiration of the then current license.
      2.   Each contractor will be assessed an additional fee of ten dollars ($10.00) annually for each journeyman and apprentice employed by the contractor and performing work within the corporate limits of the city. The contractor will be required to provide the name and state license number of each journeyman and/or apprentice so employed. The contractor will be responsible to notify the community services office of any changes in licensed employees within ten (10) days.
      3.   No licenses required by this chapter may be assigned or transferred to another. (Ord. 1184, 9-8-2015)
