A. License Required; Fees: There is hereby required a license to be issued by the community services director to each person, firm or corporation, before he engages in the activity of a plumbing and/or gas contractor. The annual fee for such license shall be payable in advance in the sum of two hundred dollars ($200.00) for the first year and payable in advance in the sum of fifty dollars ($50.00) for each subsequent year. The license shall be renewed within the thirty (30) days before expiration upon payment of fifty dollars ($50.00) and shall be issued for the fiscal year starting July 1. No plumbing and/or gas contractor shall do business in the city until he first obtains the license and meets the state licensing requirements and all bonding requirements.
B. Contractor Responsibilities: Each contractor will be assessed an additional fee of ten dollars ($10.00) annually for each journeyman and apprentice employed by the contractor and performing work within the corporate limits of the city. The contractor will be required to provide the name and state license number of each journeyman and/or apprentice so employed. The contractor will be responsible to notify the community services office of any changes in licensed employees within ten (10) days. (Ord. 1182, 9-8-2015)
