Upon a timely written request by the owner setting forth the requested reasons for an extension of time, the building official or designee may grant an extension of time, not to exceed one hundred twenty (120) days from the deadline set forth in the original notice and order, within which to complete said repair, vacation, or boarding, if the building official determines that such an extension of time will not create or perpetuate a situation imminently dangerous to life or property. The building official's authority to extend time is limited to the physical repair, vacation, or boarding of the premises and will not in any way affect the time to appeal the notice and order.
