17.32.520: PUBLICLY OWNED TREATMENT WORKS (POTW):
"Publicly owned treatment works (POTW)" means a treatment works, as defined by section 212 of the act (33 USC 1292), or its successor, which is owned by Salt Lake City Corporation having statutory authority to collect and treat sewage. This definition includes any sewers, pumping stations and appurtenances used in the collection, storage, treatment, recycling, and reclamation of sewage or industrial wastes of a liquid nature and any conveyances, which convey wastewater to a treatment plant. Building and sewer lateral shall not be included in this definition. For the purposes of this division, "POTW" shall also include any sewers that convey wastewater to the POTW by persons outside the POTW boundaries who are by contract or agreement with the POTW actually users of the POTW.
