14.44.095: 900 SOUTH STREET RAILROAD HORN QUIET ZONE:
Notwithstanding the provisions of section 14.44.090 of this chapter, and ordinance 81-04, as amended, and until such ordinance is no longer in effect, with respect to the rail line that parallels 900 South Street at approximately 950 South, and effective for all streets from Redwood Road to 700 West Street, inclusive, no operator of a railroad locomotive or any other railroad vehicle shall cause or permit any locomotive mounted audible warning device to be sounded any further than nine hundred feet (900') distant from any street/track crossing, measuring such distance from the front of an approaching locomotive or other railroad vehicle to the middle of the pavement of an upcoming street, except when, in the judgment of the operator of the locomotive or vehicle, it is necessary or prudent to sound such device to prevent damage to property or injury to persons.
