14.20.060: WATER FROM ROOF; DISCHARGE ON SIDEWALKS PROHIBITED:
It is unlawful for any person owning, occupying or having control of any premises to suffer or permit water from the roof or eaves of any house, building or other structure, or from any other source under the control of such person, to be discharged and spread upon the surface of any sidewalk. (Prior code § 38-3-4)
14.20.070: SNOW AND ICE TO BE REMOVED FROM CITY SIDEWALKS:
It is unlawful for the owner, occupant, lessor, or agent of property abutting a paved city sidewalk to fail to remove or cause to be removed from the entire length of sidewalk abutting such property, including corners and curb ramps, all hail, snow, or sleet falling thereon, or ice resulting from such, so as to make a path forty two inches (42") wide (or the entire width of the sidewalk if the width is less than 42 inches) within twenty four (24) hours after such hail, snow, or sleet has ceased falling at the Salt Lake City Airport as reported by the national weather service. Ice shall be removed to bare pavement or made as level as possible and treated with ice melt, sand, or similar material. Each day such sidewalk is not so cleared shall constitute a new violation. The city administration may adopt policies and procedures to allow accommodations and exceptions to this section for unusually challenging locations in the city. (Ord. 59-14, 2014)
14.20.080: OBSTRUCTING RIGHT OF WAY WITH SNOW PROHIBITED:
It is unlawful to place snow removed from private property in the public way. It is unlawful to place snow removed from sidewalks, drive approaches or other public places in a manner so as to cause a hazard to vehicular or pedestrian traffic. (Ord. 32-89 § 1, 1989)
