2.44.290: PROCEDURE FOR COMPLAINT INVESTIGATION:
Any complaint alleging a violation of this chapter which is filed against a public servant or volunteer public servant shall be filed with the mayor. The mayor shall investigate the complaint and refer the matter to the city attorney who may prosecute the violations consistent with section 10-3-928 of Utah code. If the city attorney in his or her professional judgment has a conflict of interest, he or she shall refer the matter to the county attorney, district attorney or office of the attorney general who may investigate or prosecute the alleged violation.
