The board shall have the following powers and duties:
A. The power to determine and establish such rules and regulations for the conduct of the board as the board members, and form committees or subcommittees as the board shall deem advisable. Such rules and regulations shall not be in conflict with this chapter or other applicable city, state or federal law;
B. The duty to review airport rules and regulations before adoption by the mayor, and provide advice to the mayor about those rules and regulations;
C. The right to recommend an individual to be appointed as the executive director of airports;
D. The right to be apprised of all major construction and expansion projects for the airport;
E. The duty to consider and provide feedback to the executive director on broad matters of policy regarding the operation and management of the airport, including the following:
1. To provide input amenities at the airport,
2 To review and provide feedback on policy regarding the capital improvement program of the airport's master plan study,
3. To review and provide feedback on matters regarding problems of general public concern affecting the airport,
F. To annually review a budget for the operating and maintenance expenditures, before approval of the budget by city council;
G. The duty to select a chair and vice chair of the board. (Ord. 1-24, 2024: Ord. 67-13, 2013)
