1531.01   CHIEF ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR; AUTHORITY.
   The Chief Electrical Inspector and his deputies are authorized to inspect and reinspect all overhead, underground and interior wires and apparatus conducting electric current for any purpose whatsoever within the City and to make such tests as he or they deem necessary to ascertain the condition of the wires, conductors or appliances. In this connection, it shall be competent for them to remove or cause to be removed any existing obstruction, such as laths, plastering, boarding or partitions, which may hinder a full and complete inspection of the wires, conductors or appliances. When the conductors or apparatus are found to be unsafe to life or property, they shall notify the person owning, using or operating them to place the same in a safe or secure condition within a reasonable time, not exceeding ten days. No person shall fail or refuse to repair, change or remove the same within the time stipulated. All electric light and power companies shall disconnect their service immediately upon notice from the Chief Electrical Inspector to do so.
   The Chief Electrical Inspector is authorized to stop work on installations being done by any person who fails to pay any fees hereinafter required after notice to pay such fees.

1531.02   RIGHT TO ENTER UPON PREMISES.
   The Chief Electrical Inspector and his deputies shall, so far as is necessary for the performance of their duties, and upon showing their badge of office, have the right to enter upon any building, site or premises. No person shall interfere with them in the performance of such duties and the exercise of such rights.

1531.03   REPORTS; APPEALS FROM RULINGS OF DEPUTY INSPECTORS.
   (a)   It shall be the duty of the Chief Electrical Inspector to keep a record of all inspections and examinations made and the work done by him pursuant to the provisions of these Electrical Regulations and to make daily reports of the same to the Building Commissioner.
   (b)   The ruling of any inspector may be appealed to the Chief Electrical Inspector.

1531.04   ACCIDENTS.
   If any accident or injury should occur, whether resulting in a fatality or not, the accident shall be immediately reported to the Chief Electrical Inspector by the person whose equipment was involved in such accident. This applies to both interior and exterior installations.

1531.05   STICKERS OR NOTICES OF INSPECTION.
   No person shall remove or alter stickers or notices of the Chief Electrical Inspector.

1531.06   PERMITS REQUIRED.
   No person shall install or cause to be installed any electric lighting, heating or power wiring or equipment without first obtaining a permit from the Chief Electrical Inspector. Evidence of the permit for all electrical work must be posted in a conspicuous place or be so located on the premises as to be easily accessible to the Chief Electrical Inspector or his deputies and must be shown to the Chief Electrical Inspector or his deputies on demand.

1531.07   PERMIT FEES.
   A fee as set forth in Chapter 185 of the Administrative Code (the General Fee Schedule) shall be charged for each permit for electrical installations.
