9-1B-14: INSPECTIONS:

   A.   Right Of Entry: The duly authorized and properly identified employees of the department shall have the right, but shall not be obligated to inspect the water supply, piping and plumbing at any customer's premises before or after water service is turned on.

   B.   Refusal Or Discontinuance Of Service: Service may be refused or discontinued when such piping or plumbing is not in conformance with the applicable City ordinance.

   C.   Nonliability Of City: Such inspection or failure to inspect or failure to refuse or discontinue service shall not render the City liable or responsible for any loss, damage or injury resulting from any defects in the piping or plumbing. (1973 Code § 13.12.150)

9-1B-15: RIGHT OF ACCESS:

The duly authorized and properly identified employees of the department shall have access to the customer's premises at all reasonable times for the purposes of inspecting water supply, piping and plumbing; inspection, testing or repairing Water Department equipment and for reading water meters. (1973 Code § 13.12.160)

9-1C-1: NONLIABILITY OF CITY FOR SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS OR VARIANCES:

   A.   Service Interruptions: The department will use all reasonable means to provide an adequate and continuous water service for all customers; but in case the water service is interrupted or reduced for any cause, the city shall not be liable for any injuries or damages resulting therefrom; and such interruption or reduction in service shall not give rise to any cause of action as for a breach of agreement for service.

   B.   Volume Of Water: The city makes no commitment as to the volume of water available, pressure per square inch or continuity of service and will not be liable for injuries or damages due to insufficient volume, inadequate pressure or interruption of service. (1973 Code § 13.16.010)

9-1C-2: WASTE OR EXCLUSIVE USE OF WATER PROHIBITED:

It shall be the duty of each customer to eliminate waste of the water supply by repairing or causing to be repaired any defective or leaking pipes or plumbing fixtures. No person shall use more water for irrigation, culinary purposes or other uses than is reasonably necessary. (1973 Code § 13.16.020)
