157.01 TITLE.

This chapter shall be known and may be cited and referred to as the “Dutch Front Ordinance.”

157.02 INTERPRETATION OF STANDARDS.

The provisions of this chapter shall be considered as either guidelines or recommendations. Where provisions of law or other rules or regulations or ordinances impose a greater restriction, those provisions shall apply.

157.03 DEFINITIONS.

For the purpose of this chapter, certain terms and words are hereby defined:

1.   “Business District” means all areas which have been zoned commercial by ordinance of the City, both the General Commercial District and the Highway Commercial District.

2.   “Dutch Front Committee” means the Dutch Front Committee as established in Chapter 26 of this Code of Ordinances.

3.   “Dutch theme” means the philosophy in keeping with 16th - 19th Century Dutch architecture as developed by the Dutch Front Committee.

4.   “Person” means any association, organization, trust, or company, or successor or assigns or agent.
