All eligible persons shall pay for each one-way trip by providing the driver with an official City transit token, provided that a cash fare of one dollar ($1.00) for each one-way trip shall be paid to the driver by any eligible person who meets the requirements of Section 1066.02(a) and provided further that the provisions of this chapter requiring payment by an official City transit token shall be null and void if the City discontinues its subsidized public transportation program through which official City transit tokens are available to eligible riders of the senior sedan program, in which case all eligible riders shall pay a cash fare of one dollar ($1. 00) for each one-way trip. Riders are not permitted to give tips or other gratuities to a driver, and acceptance of the same by a driver will constitute grounds for disciplinary action or dismissal.
