234.02 NORMAL WORK WEEK.
    Although the hours of work may vary to conform with operational demands, the normal work week for the Fire Division shall consist of forty-eight hours, except for the positions of Fire Chief and Fire Secretary, which shall be forty hours. In addition, the Fire Division shall be authorized to utilize the services of part time life safety inspectors as may be created and funded by Council from time to time and as needed to maintain adequate staffing levels in the discretion of the Fire Chief. The number of hours worked per week by such part-time life safety inspectors shall be as determined by the Fire Chief. In the event of an emergency, as determined by the Chief or, in his absence, by the Acting Chief, the members of any off-duty platoon may be called into service.
