9-9-6: RULES AND REGULATIONS:
   A.   To be operated in the City of Mt. Pulaski pursuant to this Chapter, an authorized non-highway vehicle shall have its headlight and tail lamps illumined at all times.
   B.   No person shall operate an authorized non-highway vehicle in the City of Mt. Pulaski unless the operator is at least eighteen years of age (18) and has a valid Illinois driver’s license.
   C.   An authorized non-highway vehicle may only be operated commencing at sunrise and ending at sunset with the times being those reported by the national weather service for the Springfield, Illinois area. An authorized non-highway vehicle may not be operated when visibility is impaired by weather, smoke, fog, or other conditions or at any time when there is insufficient light to clearly see persons and vehicles on the roadway at a distance of 500 feet.
   D.   No authorized non-highway vehicle shall be operated with more occupants or passengers than its factory-installed seating provides.
   E.   No authorized non-highway vehicle shall tow, haul, or trailer any device or equipment on any city street.
   F.   Each driver and passenger of a golf cart shall wear a properly fastened and adjusted seat safety belt. Children must be secured in a child restraint system as required pursuant to the Child Passenger Protection Act (625 ILCS 25/1 et seq.).
   G.   Authorized non-highway vehicles shall have no increased power, wheelbase, seating or tire modifications from a standard manufactured vehicle.
   H.   Operation on Vine Street is prohibited except between Maple Street and Flora Drive. Operation of an authorized non-highway vehicle shall not be permitted on any city sidewalk, Illinois Route 121 or County Route 10 (Elkhart Road). Crossing Illinois Route 121 and County Route 10 in a straight line only is permitted.
   I.   Open alcohol is prohibited while operating non-highway vehicle. Any person who drives or is in actual physical control of a non-highway vehicle on a roadway while under the influence is subject to 625 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/11-501 through 5/11-502 of the Illinois Vehicle Code.
